first post

I have been wanting to start a blog for awhile now for semi-selfish reasons. I think this will be a fun space to post my thoughts and share some of the things I am doing right now in life. I thought it would be fun for my first post to compile all of the mini posts I have been putting in my cell phone. Random I know, but my phone has a little space called "notes" where you can write little messages and I have been recording some of my thoughts there as I receive them. I currently filled the "notes" section to capacity and I think that may be the reason why my phone's battery has been spontaneously dying as of late. So I will post them on my blog so I can have a space to store and share those thoughts. Enjoy.

-"So I want to learn archery and see if they have any road race in Portland's rose garden. I think it is called Washington Park. I wanna learn how to surf!"
(Written while visiting my brother who lives in Portland Oregon)

-"The more I learn about photography the more I appreciate cinematography. How does one capture feelings and specific scenes so unique to the eye with an artificial lens?"

-"Religion has inspired art's most beautiful creations. All art depicting reality is amazing because the individual capturing it can't help but capture some of their self into the work. White Noise barn ex."
(Written after attending an art museum)

-"The foundation of understanding is the willingness to listen. Wise words"
(A nice quote written by someone wiser than me)

- "If God brought you to it, he'll see you through it."
(A quote shared to me by my grandma)

-" I want to find a new way to express myself. There are too many words in the world and they are often superficial and insincere."

-"Gardening gives you a new perspective of the world. I am no longer bothered by bugs, they are friendlies."
(Unless the bugs are earwigs.)

-"Ask Dad about Japanese. Are they friendly?"
( I am sure the Japanese are friendly, my Dad served a LDS mission to Japan and I just wanted to ask him more about it)

-" I love nonverbal communication! My coworker and I just had a conversation and we didn't have to say a thing. I love the way you can simply use your body to express yourself. However, it is essential that you and the individual be on the same level. For example, someone trying to cuddle with you, implying that they want to be near without words, is misery when the feeling is not mutual. To use nonverbal communication to deny physical closeness is excruciatingly awkward and not enjoyable."

-"When you love someone, it shouldn't be hard to write them a letter, right?"

-"Truth is subject to rhetoric."

-"Irony of zoos"
(I think I will write an entry about this someday soon)

-"Write a song about better late then never."

-" ' You make a living with what you earn; you make a life with what you give.' "

-" Let us. . . not write checks with our tongues that our conduct cannot cash." -Neal A. Maxwell

-"Sometimes I think the fear of offending someone or facing scorn has caused me to neglect sharing what I really, deeply think and feel. I need to overcome this somehow."

-"I hate sticky sweet fake people! I strive to be sincere always and fake people are the antithesis of my being. On the other hand sincerity can have it's low points too. I find myself being sincere in my disdain and scorn. I find myself being sincerely disappointed. Some emotions must be masked to avoid hurting others. Oh the joys of inner conflicts!"

Oh my goodness! That felt good to post all of those things. Sorry it is such a long first post! No wonder my phone is dying all of the time, that is a lot of material to hold! I am excited to start this blog and look forward for future posts to come.
